Contextual Statement
Loneliness effects 1 in 3 Australians and results in alcoholism, Alzheimers, premature death and other health problems.
Design Intent
The design intent is to investigate the phenomena of transient loneliness by designing a physical experience to enable people to connect with each other and reflect on the experience with the opportunity to connect in the future.
Research
Interviews were conducted with the target audience to determine the validity of the design as well as an Interpretative Creative Director,
Mental Health Professional and primary stakeholders.
Outcome
I secured a studio space at Griffith University Southbank Campus to stage the experience as proof of concept.

Contextual Statement
Immersive experience presented in the White Box Gallery, exploring anthophilia from research into the embodiment of flowers. The main objective was to connect the audience to the beauty of flowers.
Design Intent
This piece focused on the design principles movement, rhythm and contrast. While flowers offer very little apart from their aesthetic, they are embedded in our lives having significance at times such as showing love for someone, weddings and funerals.
Research
The connection between people and flowers. Techniques using
GPU particle system and point clouds.
Outcome
This piece was part of a collage of floweriness employing touchdesigner techniques and presented to industry, the feedback noted the piece was “magical and the flowers appeared to be floating” and could be improved with a narrative.
